Slovakia is the second all-time nation in the world in this sport, having a common past with Czech Republic until the separation of Czechoslovakia. Futnet is very popular and played in Slovakia under the traditional name of Nohejbal, world that brings together nohej (=foot) and bal (=ball).
Slovak Futnet Association was founded in 1974, back when they were part of Czechoslovakia. In 1994 Slovakia organized the first World Championship for MEN in this sport.
Even if they don’t have a powerful internal championship, Slovakia has the chance for their top players to play for teams from the Czech championship, so the quality of the players is at the highest level.
